Title: Supply Clerk, Materials Management

Reports To: Materials Manager, Procurement Director & Senior VP – CFO
General Statement of Functions: The Supply Clerk will provide services consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of the Organization.
Job Summary: The Supply Clerk will be responsible for the following on a daily basis: Ordering, receiving, and dispensing of supplies requested for all departments within the hospital, maintaining stock levels in hospital areas that are assigned such as, Med Surge & ICU. Maintain records on supply purchases and equipment. Responsible for year-end physical inventory count and year end reporting. The Supply Clerk also assists in maintaining the appearance of warehouse daily. Prepares purchase requisitions for supplies and equipment to keep adequate stock on hand; orders or requisitions special items (non-stock) as requested; orders certain standard items directly from approved vendors. Receives and inspects supplies; checks items against invoices or freight bills for proper quantity; checks items for damage and notifies vendor or the transport company of unacceptable items.
Essential
Functions and Responsibilities:
The
Supply Clerk will order, receive and dispense all supplies requested for
hospital departments. Maintain records
on supply purchases and equipment. Participate
in maintaining stock levels in hospital departments as needed. The Supply Clerk
will also be responsible for year-end physical inventory count and other duties
as assigned by the Procurement Director.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. Associate’s Degree in related field Preferred
but not required.
Training/Experience: Prior
experience preferred but not required.
Job
Knowledge: Understanding
of warehouse procedures, such as stock rotation, stamping merchandise and
purchasing materials as needed for daily functions.
Interrelationships: Interactions
with employees, staff and visitors from all walks of life.
Physical
Demands: May require prolonged sitting or standing. Requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting
and stretching. May require lifting up
to 50 pounds. Requires hand-eye
coordination and manual dexterity to perform duties. Requires the use of hand
trucks and push carts. Work is performed
in both an office and warehouse environment.
Exposure to variable weather conditions are common in this position.
